President Mahama says schools will no longer use wooden furniture

He has been planting trees and cutting them down at the same time, he said. “To reduce deforestation, I will issue a directive to stop the use of wood for producing school furniture. Going forward, we will adopt environmentally friendly alternatives such as recycled plastic or metal.”
President Mahama asked everyone to help Ghana become greener and more sustainable.
President Mahama said that the move was part of a larger national plan to protect forest resources and promote sustainability in government buying.
