Two Killed, 19 Injured in Israeli Coastal Rocket Attack Amid Iran Missile Barrage

Israeli emergency services confirmed on Saturday that two people were killed and 19 others injured after multiple Iranian missiles struck a residential area in the country’s coastal plain. The attack comes amid a wider escalation following Israel's airstrikes on Iranian targets earlier this week.

According to Magen David Adom, Israel’s national emergency service, rescue teams responded to the scene where missiles landed in civilian neighborhoods. A woman in her 60s was found with no signs of life and was declared dead at the scene. A man, estimated to be about 45 years old, was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The rocket attack also left 19 other individuals injured, with emergency medical personnel providing on-site treatment and transporting victims to area hospitals.

The strikes are part of a broader barrage of ballistic missiles launched by Iran in retaliation for Israel’s "Operation Rising Lion," which targeted Iran’s nuclear and military leadership. Saturday’s attack has heightened concerns that civilian areas are increasingly being caught in the crossfire as hostilities deepen.

Air raid sirens were triggered across multiple regions, and residents were urged to stay in shelters. Videos circulating on local media showed shattered buildings, burning vehicles, and emergency crews combing through rubble.

Israeli authorities have raised the national alert level, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to address the nation later today. Defense officials have promised a continued and "measured response" to safeguard Israeli lives and infrastructure.

As the international community pushes for de-escalation, the human cost of the conflict continues to mount—further fueling calls for immediate diplomatic intervention.
