Legon, Accra – The University of Ghana is celebrating a new cohort of academic achievers as over 1,900 students graduate across four sessions over two days during the July 2025 Congregation ceremonies.

The graduating class is made up of:

  • 107 PhD holders,

  • 917 Master’s degree recipients, and

  • 920 undergraduates.

The highlight of the ceremonies was the PhD graduation session, held on Friday morning, which marked a proud milestone in academic excellence and research advancement. The solemn yet joyous event saw the presence of the Chancellor, Mrs. Mary Chinery-Hesse, the Chair of Council, the Vice-Chancellor, as well as senior university officials, faculty, and proud family members.

The University community extended heartfelt congratulations to its newest doctoral graduates.

“Proceed in truth and integrity to help build the Ghana and world we want,” a message from the university read. “Make the world a better place through your research, innovation, and service to humanity.”

The July Congregation underscores the University of Ghana’s commitment to nurturing scholars who are equipped not only with knowledge but also with the values of excellence, integrity, and service.
