Young Woman Dies After Collapsing on Bus in Brazil with 26 iPhones Glued to Her Body

A 20-year-old woman has tragically died after collapsing during a long-distance bus journey in Brazil, with authorities later discovering 26 iPhones strapped to her body.
The incident occurred as the woman traveled alone from Foz do Iguaçu to São Paulo. The bus had stopped at a roadside restaurant in Guarapuava, located in the central region of Paraná, when she began experiencing difficulty breathing.
Emergency services were immediately called, and paramedics from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) responded. They reported that although she was conscious, she was struggling to breathe. Moments later, she exhibited signs of respiratory distress and appeared to suffer a seizure.
Despite 45 minutes of resuscitation efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
While administering aid, medical personnel noticed several suspicious packages attached directly to her body. Subsequent investigations by the Military Police and forensic teams revealed that the woman had 26 iPhones glued to her torso.
No drugs were detected by a sniffer dog, but several bottles of alcohol were found in her luggage and seized by authorities.
In a statement, the Paraná Civil Police said, “The Civil Police are actively investigating the case and are awaiting the results of forensic examinations to determine the exact cause of death.”
The seized iPhones have been handed over to the Federal Revenue Service for further investigation. The woman’s identity has not been publicly disclosed, and inquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
