Mr. Asiedu Nketiah said investment in museums would enable people to learn more about the rich history and culture of their nation in an interview with Graphic Online during the opening of the Despite Automobile Museum today in Accra.
He bemoaned the neglect of African culture in favor of Western values and what he called a distorted historical narrative that frequently presents Africa as a society gone backwards. "Every civilization's educational resource is much enhanced by museums. I urge others to set up places like this where young people may learn about our proud African history.
Modern facilities, including a vast array of vehicles, including vintage and classic cars going back as far as 1929, make up the state-of-the-art Automobile Museum.
Among the guests of honor at the star-studded museum launch were Mr. Nketiah, the Chief of Staff; Julius Debrah; hiplife artist Sarkodie; and Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
