Dada Joe Remix Extradited to U.S. Over Multi-Million Dollar Romance Scam
Ghanaian Suspect Joseph Badu Boateng to Face Justice in U.S. After FBI-Led International Operation
Joseph Badu Boateng, popularly known as Dada Joe Remix, has been extradited from Ghana to the United States to face serious charges linked to a multi-million-dollar romance and inheritance fraud scheme.
The extradition was the result of a joint operation led by the FBI, with support from the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) of the U.S. Embassy in Ghana and local Ghanaian law enforcement agencies.
A post shared via the official Facebook handle of the U.S. Embassy confirmed the move, noting that Boateng had been indicted for orchestrating a fraud ring that targeted vulnerable individuals in the United States, exploiting romantic relationships and fake inheritance claims to siphon millions of dollars from unsuspecting victims.
"The subject is now in the United States to face justice," the DSS announced. "Diplomatic Security Service special agents at the U.S. Embassy in Ghana worked with Ghanaian authorities to assist the FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation in the extradition."
The case marks another significant milestone in the ongoing crackdown on cyber fraud syndicates operating across borders, particularly in West Africa.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and cautious of online schemes, especially those involving requests for money based on emotional manipulation or claims of sudden wealth.
Boateng is currently in U.S. custody and will be arraigned in the coming days. Investigations are ongoing to identify other possible collaborators in the scheme.
