Ebo Noah gained notoriety on social media platforms including TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook, where he claimed the world would be destroyed by floods on December 25. He urged followers to prepare by joining his so-called ark, sparking fear and confusion among sections of the public. Police investigations revealed that Noah admitted the ark did not belong to him and confessed to fabricating the prophecy.
He has been charged with publication of false news with intent to cause fear and panic. The court ruled that a psychiatric evaluation was necessary to determine whether his actions were driven by mental health issues or deliberate intent to mislead. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 15, 2026.
Authorities have raised concerns about the misuse of social media to spread misinformation and incite panic.
