Former CEO Of MIIF Prevented From Flying Out Of Ghana

The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Minerals Income And Investment Fund (MIIF) Edward Koranteng has been prevented from flying out of Ghana by the Ghana Immigration Service.

The former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Minerals Income And Investment Fund (MIIF), Mr. Edward Koranteng was prevented from flying out of Ghana due to investigations by the Office of the Special Prosecuter (OSP).

According to media reports, Mr. Edward Koranteng was prevented from boarding an International flight out of Ghana at the Kotoka International Airport on Tuesday 29th July 2025. 

He was stopped by officers of the immigration service who noticed that he was trying to leave Ghana without clearance from the OSP despite being on the travel ban. 

The immigration service then informed the Office of the special prosecuter (OSP) who picked Mr. Edward Koranteng for further questioning. 

He is currently under investigation by the OSP together with former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Petrolium Authority (NPA) Dr. Mustapha Abdul Hamid over allegations of corruption related offences. 

Due to the investigations, Mr. Koranteng has been placed on travel ban list which make it impossible for him to travel out of Ghana until investigations are completed.
