NADMO Staffs threatened demonstrations against Ministry of Finance over prolonged salary arrears 

National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) staff and directors in Ghana have faced prolonged salary arrears stretching for about 12 months because the Ministry of Finance has delayed releasing funds and processing financial clearances.

While leadership has stated that discussions and administrative processes are ongoing to secure financial approvals and clearance, workers continue to demand immediate disbursement.

Regional representatives and municipal directors have threatened to stage demonstrations and address formal petitions to the Ministry of Finance if payments are not expedited.

Mr. Oscar Kennedy Nyarko, Youth Organizer for Birim South Constituency, warned the leadership of the government to as matter of urgency address the situation amicably before it affect the credibility of the NDC party he belongs. 

"I am seriously urging President Mahama to step into this matter before it get out of hands, the workers are angry and ready to stage a demonstration against the sitting government and I am ready to support them" Oscar hinted. 

"Directors and field staff report mounting debts, inability to pay rent, and struggles to provide basic food and healthcare for their families because they have not been paid for over 12 months" He added.

"The most painful aspect is these unpaid workers are the same people who work hard to ensure overwhelming victory for the NDC party during the 2024 election, that's why we are all fighting for them" he ended.
