Pastor Samuel Agyei Praises Ghana Immigration Service for Clearing Foreigners from Streets
Pastor Samuel Agyei commends Ghana Immigration Service for removing undocumented foreigners from Accra’s streets, citing national security concerns and future crime risks.

The General Overseer of Heavenly Kingdom Chapel, Pastor Samuel Agyei, has publicly commended the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) for a recent operation that saw several foreign nationals removed from the streets of Accra.
The operation, which was carried out last Friday morning, targeted undocumented foreigners reportedly engaging in street begging across major intersections and commercial centers.
Pastor Agyei, speaking to local media, praised the move as timely and essential for national security. “Those foreigners on the streets begging were a threat to our security, so I am happy the Ghana Immigration Service has done the needful,” he stated.
He further emphasized the long-term risks of leaving such situations unchecked, warning that the young foreigners seen begging today could become future armed robbers and terrorists if not properly monitored and managed.
“If we don’t act now, these individuals may grow into people who pose real threats to peace and safety in this country,” Pastor Agyei cautioned.
National Security or Human Rights Concern?
While some members of the public have supported the crackdown, citing similar security concerns, others have called for a more humane and structured approach that includes social welfare assessments and rehabilitation programs for vulnerable individuals, especially minors.
The Ghana Immigration Service has yet to issue an official report on the operation, but sources within the agency have hinted at more coordinated exercises in the coming weeks to curb illegal street activities involving foreign nationals.
