Voting to Begin at 8 AM Nationwide with Strict ID Requirements

GJA Heads to the Polls June 30: Journalists to Elect New National and Regional Leaders

The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has set Monday, June 30, 2025, as the official date for its long-anticipated National and Regional Executive Elections. Voting will kick off simultaneously across all regions at 8:00 a.m. and end at exactly 3:00 p.m.

Key Voting Centres Named in Accra and Beyond

Designated polling stations in the Greater Accra Region include the Ghana News Agency, Graphic Communications Group, New Times Corporation, GBC, the Ghana International Press Centre, and Obonu FM in Tema. Other centres include Ho, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Sunyani, Tamale, Wa, Bolgatanga, Kumasi, and Techiman.

Final Tallying of National Results to Take Place at Press Centre

All ballots will be counted and announced immediately after polls close. Regional results will be declared onsite and forwarded to the national committee. For the national executive elections, final results will be compiled and officially declared at the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra.

Ghana Card, Voter’s ID or Passport Required for Voting

Only voters presenting valid identification with photo—specifically a Ghana Card, Voter’s ID, or Passport—will be allowed to vote.

■  Election Offences Clearly Outlined

The GJA Elections Committee has issued a strong warning against electoral offences such as double voting, vote-buying, coercion, obstruction, or public display and photographing of ballots.

All delegates and candidates are urged to comply fully with the electoral guidelines to uphold the integrity of the elections and safeguard the credibility of the Association.
