Senior Political Science Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Asah-Asante, has expressed strong confidence in Ghana’s direction under the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stating that the country is on a promising path if the current leadership maintains its focus and momentum.

Speaking in a media interview on Wednesday, Dr. Asah-Asante noted that under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, the NDC has displayed policy consistency and a renewed drive toward national development.

If the NDC stays on course—maintaining discipline, inclusiveness, and clear policy direction—Ghana will reach its destination,” he emphasized.

He praised recent government efforts in economic stabilization, infrastructure rehabilitation, and social intervention programs, adding that the administration appears committed to restoring investor confidence and long-term growth.

Dr. Asah-Asante also urged citizens to remain active in governance through constructive engagement and policy scrutiny. “Democracy thrives not just through elections, but through daily accountability and civic participation,” he remarked.

As the Mahama-led government nears one year in office, the comments have been interpreted as a timely endorsement of its developmental agenda, while also emphasizing the importance of consistency and public trust in governance.

The remarks have since gained traction across political and media circles, with analysts calling for continued collaboration between government and civil society in shaping Ghana’s future.
