IMANI Boss Backs Calls for EC Leadership Ouster - “Their Sins Are Many”
IMANI Petitions CHRAJ as Cudjoe Accuses Electoral Commission of Overspending and Undermining Democracy

President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has thrown his weight behind growing calls for the removal of Electoral Commission Chairperson Jean Mensa and her deputies, Dr. Bossman Asare and Samuel Tettey, citing serious concerns about transparency, accountability, and electoral fairness.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Big Issue on Saturday, June 28, Cudjoe described the current EC leadership as “evasive, high-handed, and complicit” in administrative failures that undermine Ghana’s democracy.
Cudjoe referenced the disenfranchisement of voters in the SALL (Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi, and Likpe) areas during the 2020 parliamentary elections as a glaring example of the EC's poor handling of its mandate.
"Everyone knows my position. If I added the SALL issue to their sins, it would be even worse," he said. While he clarified that he would not personally petition for their removal, IMANI has submitted a complaint to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the EC's conduct.
He stressed that the matter transcends party politics, warning that the EC’s actions could erode public trust in Ghana’s democratic institutions.
Cudjoe’s comments add weight to earlier demands made by NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, who also called on the EC leadership to step down.
