Before he acquired fame and success, Agyapong lived and worked in the Bronx, New York, and began as a taxi driver. By his dedication and thrift, he had diversified into operating a fleet of eight cabs. He diversified into assisting Ghanaians with immigration papers, including amnesty and visa lottery, a business that allegedly generated him over $1 million during the late 1990s. This entrepreneurial spirit would define the rest of his career.
Setting Up a Business Empire in Ghana
In Ghana, Kennedy Agyapong diversified his business further. He is a property magnate with over 147 properties in Accra, Tema, and Kumasi, it is said. He established KenCity Media, whose affiliates include Net2 TV, Oman FM, Ashh FM, Spice FM, and Nap Radio.
Besides his business interests, Agyapong also owns interests in production and farming, including Assin Farms, cold storage warehouses, fruit factories, and steel production companies.
Political Career and Parliamentary Legacy
Kennedy Agyapong joined the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and parliament in 2000 as the Assin North Member of Parliament. He won the seat comfortably in 2004 and 2008. After constituency re-demarcation, he was elected the MP for Assin Central and was re-elected in 2012, 2016, and 2020.
In parliament, he was a chairman of the Defense and Interior Committee and a member of the Judiciary and Special Budget Committees. Known for his blunt and sometimes combative opinions, Agyapong has developed a reputation as one of Ghana's most vocal lawmakers.

He lives a very expensive lifestyle and once broke his silence to mention that he sleeps on an $80,000 bed and owns a number of cars that are top of the line, one of which is a Rolls Royce.
