Lagos Announces Two-Day Traffic Diversion on Osborne Road, Ikoyi Starting Friday
The Lagos State Government has announced a two-day traffic diversion on Osborne Road in Ikoyi, scheduled to begin Friday, August 15, 2025.
According to the state’s Ministry of Transportation, the diversion is necessary to facilitate urgent drainage maintenance works along the busy corridor. The repairs aim to improve water flow, prevent future flooding, and ensure the road remains safe for motorists and pedestrians.
Diversion Plan and Alternative Routes
During the maintenance period, sections of Osborne Road will be closed to through traffic. Motorists are advised to:
• Use Awolowo Road through Falomo as an alternative route.
• Follow traffic officers’ guidance at key intersections to ease congestion.
• Plan journeys ahead to avoid delays during peak hours.
The government assures that traffic management personnel will be deployed to guide road users and minimize disruptions.
