President Tinubu Appoints Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as New Controller-General of Federal Fire Service

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).
The announcement was made on Wednesday, July 30, by Major General Abdulmalik Jibril (rtd), Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), on behalf of the President.
Adeyemi’s appointment takes effect from August 14, 2025, following the impending retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who will bow out of service on August 11, 2025, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.
According to the CDCFIB, DCG Olumode Adeyemi brings decades of valuable experience to the position. He began his career with the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, where he rose through the ranks to become Deputy Controller-General in charge of the Human Resource Directorate at the Service Headquarters.
Major Gen. Jibril noted that Adeyemi has successfully completed all required in-service trainings and command courses, both locally and internationally. He has also served in various leadership roles across the Service.
The newly appointed Controller-General is a member and fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
The Board also expressed its gratitude to the outgoing CG, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, for his outstanding service and dedication to the Federal Fire Service. It commended his numerous contributions and initiatives that have helped shape the Service during his tenure.
