Shatta Wale, MOG Beatz trend as Producer alleges “scam” over music catalogue
Shatta Wale and MOG Beatz Trend Amid Intellectual Property Dispute

Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale and music producer MOG Beatz are once again at the centre of controversy, after fresh allegations surfaced regarding the use of intellectual property and unpaid production credits.
According to MOG Beatz, some of Shatta Wale’s albums have recently been taken down from Apple Music, with suggestions that other digital streaming platforms (DSPs) may soon follow suit.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), MOG accused Shatta Wale of using his intellectual property to “scam” an international company through the unauthorised sale of music catalogues containing beats he produced. He claimed the act not only undermined his rights as a producer but also exposed larger issues of accountability in the music industry.
MOG further released a detailed write-up outlining his grievances with Shatta Wale, alleging that the artiste’s actions have negatively affected him and several other producers whose works contributed to Shatta’s projects.
The accusations have since gone viral, sparking heated debate among fans and industry watchers. While some have rallied behind MOG Beatz, citing a longstanding pattern of Ghanaian producers being underappreciated, others argue that Shatta Wale has already compensated him in various forms and continues to maintain his success independently.
Shatta Wale, who has previously denied allegations of unfair treatment of producers, has not yet issued a direct public statement regarding the latest claims. However, the ongoing feud adds to the growing conversation about intellectual property rights, transparency in royalty sharing, and the protection of producers within Ghana’s music space.
