Bali police have detained two suspects after a violent villa shooting left Australian Zivan Radmanovic dead and another man injured. The rare attack has shocked the island's popular tourist region.

Two Suspects Arrested After Fatal Bali Villa Shooting Kills Australian Tourist

Police in Bali have confirmed the detention of two suspects connected to a deadly villa shooting that claimed the life of 32-year-old Australian Zivan Radmanovic and left another man seriously injured.

The brazen late-night attack occurred just after midnight on Saturday in the village of Munggu, in southern Bali’s Badung regency — an area known for its peaceful surroundings and growing tourist presence.

Attack in the Night: Gunmen Storm Villa

Radmanovic was shot multiple times after two armed men stormed the private villa he shared with others. According to local reports, his wife woke to the sound of his screams and found his lifeless body in the bathroom.

Another man, 34-year-old Sanar Ghanim, also suffered gunshot wounds and was beaten during the attack. He remains hospitalized in serious condition. His wife, along with Radmanovic’s, witnessed parts of the attack but were unharmed.

Suspects Caught in Indonesia and Abroad

Authorities have confirmed that one suspect was arrested in Jakarta, Indonesia’s capital, while the second was apprehended overseas. Details about the identities of the suspects, their nationalities, or extradition efforts have not yet been made public.

Crime Scene Evidence and Eyewitness Accounts

Investigators recovered a significant amount of ballistic evidence: 17 spent bullet casings, two full projectiles, and 55 metal fragments. Photos shared in Australian media depict bullet-pierced windows and bloodstains throughout the villa.

Witnesses reported hearing the attackers speaking English with distinct Australian accents. One suspect reportedly said, "I can't start my bike," before fleeing on a scooter. Eyewitness descriptions note one man in an orange jacket and helmet, the other wearing dark green with a black mask.

Potential Links to Past Criminal Activity

Though no official motive has been disclosed, Australian media outlets have reported that Ghanim may have past connections to Melbourne’s criminal underworld. Notably, he once had ties to the stepdaughter of convicted crime boss Carl Williams.

Ghanim also served prison time in 2014 for a non-fatal shooting in Melbourne. Victoria Police in Australia have acknowledged the incident and pledged cooperation with Indonesian authorities.

A Rare but Alarming Incident in Tourist-Friendly Bali

Violent crimes involving firearms are extremely rare in Bali, which welcomes millions of international tourists annually. The Badung region, where the shooting occurred, includes popular destinations like Canggu and Kuta.

The high-profile nature of the attack, coupled with foreign victims and international suspect ties, has stunned both locals and visitors. Authorities continue to investigate the motive and whether more individuals were involved.

As the investigation unfolds, both Indonesian and Australian law enforcement are working closely to piece together the events of this deadly night — and to ensure justice for those affected.
