Breaking news: Thirteen kidnapped passengers rescued in Benue State

A joint effort by police and local vigilantes led to the rescue of 13 passengers kidnapped by gunmen in Okpokwu Local Government Area in Benue State. The victims were taken from Eke-Elengbecho while traveling from Abeokuta, Ogun State, to Makurdi.
Adah Inalegwu, the chairman of Okpokwu Local Government, said the rescue was possible thanks to tighter security, better tracking, and support from Governor Hyacinth Alia. The kidnappers were forced to leave 11 victims at Oando village, while two others were rescued earlier on Saturday.
The rescued passengers are being checked and prepared to be reunited with their families. The success of the operation came from the combined efforts of police and vigilantes, who put pressure on the kidnappers, leading to the release of all 13 victims.
