Jebiri Pupils Get New School Block in Just Four Months

The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has officially opened a brand-new Junior High School building at Jebiri D/A School. This development has brought much-needed comfort to both students and educators in the Jebiri area within the Techiman North District.

The event drew a large crowd, including local residents, education authorities, and officials from the Techiman North District Assembly, who came together to formally present the completely equipped structure to the institution.

In her address during the ceremony, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare reaffirmed her dedication to upgrading educational facilities throughout the constituency. She emphasized that well-equipped learning environments play a vital role in boosting both instruction quality and student performance.

On behalf of the Jebiri community, the Chief of Jebiri, Nana Ameyaw Kesebeng II, conveyed deep thanks for this transformative project. He specifically praised the NDC administration, the Member of Parliament Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the District Chief Executive Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, and the full Techiman North District Assembly.

He pointed out that the construction finished earlier than anticipated, highlighting the government's strong resolve to advance education standards nationwide.

“During the groundbreaking, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare pledged to finish the school block in six months, yet the team delivered it in just four months and it's fully furnished too.”

The school's head teacher, Mr. Ponada Donkor George Evans, explained how the new facility will dramatically improve daily academic activities.

"For the last eight years, Jebiri D/A JHS pupils had been coping with a substandard building that hampered consistent attendance. Now, with this modern four-unit JHS block in place, student turnout should rise considerably, and classroom delivery will become far more effective."

He noted that the dilapidated old structure had hurt enrollment numbers, with some families pulling their children out or sending them to distant schools in nearby communities because of the conditions. Mr. Ponada Donkor George Evans expressed confidence that this upgrade will lead to a notable increase in student numbers.

He also gave his word to the Techiman North MP, Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, and the district education office that the new building will receive excellent care and upkeep.

“We promise to look after this facility very well on behalf of our Member of Parliament.”
