NPP Announces Dates For Presidential Primary And Delegates Conference
The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced dates for its Presidential Primary and National Delegates Conference.

The opposition New Patriotic Party Party (NPP) has set dates for its Presidential Primary and National Delegates Conference.
According to the general secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Fredua, the party will hold its National Delegates Conference on 19th July 2025 at the Legon sports stadium.
He also announced that, the party will elect it's flagbearer on 31st January 2026. To this end, a nine member committee chaired by the former member of Parliament for Bekwai Joseph Osei Owusu has been set up to plan the National Delegates Conference.
The National Delegates Conference is expected to look at proposals for various amendments to party's constitution.
What this means is that, the party has now adopted the top to bottom approach in electing it's flagbearer.
In this case, flagbearer will be elected before the elections of National, Regional and Constituency executives as done in the past.
The decision to elect a flagbearer early is seen as a good idea as it will give the party more time to heal wounds after the elections before the general elections in 2028.
