“YOU CAN ARREST US, WE AREN’T AFRAID OF NDC” – NPP COMMUNICATOR VOWS TO SPEAK TRUTH TO POWER

A member of the New Patriotic Party (New Patriotic Party) communication team in the Ashanti Region, Amos Mensah, has declared that he and his colleagues will continue to speak “truth to power” without fear or intimidation from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking in a charged political atmosphere in the region, Amos Mensah insisted that attempts to silence or discourage NPP communicators would not succeed, stressing that they remain committed to defending the party’s record and engaging the public with facts.

“We aren’t afraid of the NDC. We will speak truth to power, no matter the pressure,” he stated, adding that political communication should be anchored on honesty, accountability, and boldness rather than fear.

Mensah, who also works as an exhaust pipe specialist alongside his political communication duties, noted that his background strengthens his resilience and ability to connect with ordinary Ghanaians on issues affecting their daily lives.

He is also a communication officer hopeful for the Manhyia North constituency, expressing confidence in his growing role within the party’s communication structure.

He further claimed that “the table will turn” for the NDC, insisting that the opposition would one day face similar levels of scrutiny and political pressure that, in his view, the NPP currently endures.

According to him, NPP communicators across the country should remain resolute, mobilise effectively, and continue to defend their party’s policies through active and strategic engagement rather than retreating in the face of criticism.

He, however, cautioned communicators to operate within the confines of the law, urging them not to be intimidated by state security agencies such as the Ghana Police Service, the National Intelligence Bureau, or other national security bodies, while maintaining peaceful and lawful political expression.

He further called on political actors on all sides to promote respectful and issue-based communication, insisting that Ghana’s democracy is best strengthened when citizens are free to express their views without fear or harassment.
