Pastor Abducted as Suspected Bandits Attack Niger Community
Suspected bandits abducted Pastor Sunday Musa during a pre-dawn raid on Samunaka village in Niger State. The attackers, numbering around 20, fired shots before fleeing with the cleric. Security forces and local vigilantes are working to rescue him.

Suspected bandits have abducted a pastor, Sunday Musa, in Niger State.
The kidnapping occurred around 4:00 a.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, in Samunaka, a community near Babanna in the Borgu Local Government Area.
Eyewitnesses said about 20 armed men stormed the village, fired sporadically into the air, and took the cleric away to an unknown location.
Police authorities confirmed receiving a distress call from the Officer-in-Charge of the Babanna Outstation and said tactical teams and local vigilantes were immediately mobilized.
Efforts to locate the kidnappers and safely rescue the victim are ongoing, while security patrols have been intensified across vulnerable communities in the Babanna–Borgu axis.
