YEA begins validation of beneficiaries in Techiman

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has commenced the validation of over 367 beneficiaries and 23 master trainers recruited under its Skills Training Model in the Techiman Municipality.

The validation exercise was announced during an interaction with beneficiaries at the Bonokyempem Hall, where officials of the Agency outlined the scope and categories of the programme aimed at equipping the youth with employable skills.

Speaking at the engagement, the Techiman Municipal Coordinator of the Youth Employment Agency, Mr. Ibrahim Fuseini Beagrin, indicated that beneficiaries under the Skills Training Model have been drawn from a wide range of vocational and technical trades. These include tailoring, beautician services, hairdressing, baking, plumbing, POP works, glass works, carpentry, metal works, auto mechanics, electrical works, tiling, bricklaying, and painting, as well as master trainers across the various categories.

Mr. Beagrin further disclosed that under the Service Personnel Model, an additional 160 personnel would be validated to benefit from the programme. He explained that this category covers personnel serving in key public institutions, including the Ghana National Fire Service, National Ambulance Service, Community Police Assistants, and the Ghana Prisons Service, among others.

He cautioned all beneficiaries to exercise patience and cooperate fully with YEA staff by following laid-down procedures to ensure a smooth and successful validation process.

Mr. Ibrahim Fuseini Beagrin expressed optimism about the impact of the programme on the youth of Techiman, stating that under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, young people in the municipality would experience significant improvements in their livelihoods through expanded employment and skills development opportunities.

The validation exercise forms part of ongoing efforts by the Youth Employment Agency to promote youth empowerment, reduce unemployment, and support skills-based economic growth at the local level.
