The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned maintenance exercise scheduled for Thursday, July 17, 2025, which will result in temporary power outages across parts of the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, and Volta Regions.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a planned maintenance exercise scheduled for Thursday, July 17, 2025, which will result in temporary power outages across parts of the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Central, and Volta Regions. The exercise is part of ECG’s ongoing efforts to improve power reliability and service delivery nationwide.

Scheduled Downtime

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Purpose: System upgrades and preventive maintenance

The ECG has apologized for the inconvenience and urged residents in affected areas to:

Treat all electrical appliances as live during the outage

Take necessary precautions to avoid electrical hazards

We regret the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” ECG stated, emphasizing that the maintenance is essential to minimizing future disruptions and enhancing service quality.
