Ghana's Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, has played a pivotal role in facilitating a newly constructed asphalt overlay on the roads leading through Pope John Senior High School and Minor Seminary in the Koforidua-Effiduase Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The road enhancement project, executed under the auspices of the Mahama-led administration, comes just in time for the school’s 67th anniversary celebration and has drastically improved the infrastructure and appearance of the campus. The previously deteriorated and dusty roads have now been transformed into a smooth, durable network, easing movement for students, staff, and visitors.

An alumnus of the institution, Dr. Omane Boamah's involvement in the initiative showcases his continued dedication to uplifting his alma mater and community.

“The aim is to fix the deplorable nature of the road network to facilitate the free movement of staff, students, and visitors, smooth traffic control, whilst improving productivity,” said Dr. Boamah.

Beyond the school compound, the road construction also benefits critical surrounding institutions such as the St. Joseph Hospital and the Eastern Regional Office of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, as the upgrade stretches from the school campus into the main Effiduase township.
