One of the flagship games, “Hunting the Hunter,” is based on Anas’s exposé of cocoa smuggling in Ghana. The game won top honors at the Floodlight Investigative Journalism Gaming Summit held in Amsterdam, where it was praised for its innovative approach to civic education and anti-corruption advocacy. “For years, my team and I have risked everything to uncover corruption,” Anas said during the launch. “But sustaining change also means telling the truth in ways that future generations can carry with them. Gaming offers a powerful way to achieve that.”

The initiative is supported by a coalition of international organizations, including the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), the Gabo Foundation, Anima Interactive, and SpielFabrique, among others. These partners are working with journalists, educators, and game developers to adapt investigative stories into playable formats that challenge players to think critically about justice, ethics, and accountability.

The project also includes workshops and training sessions aimed at empowering journalists and storytellers to use gaming as a tool for social change. By merging investigative journalism with interactive media, Anas hopes to inspire a new generation of truth-seekers and civic-minded citizens.
