A 40-year-old man, Yahaya Saleh, has been arrested by FCT police for attempting to bribe investigators with ₦1.5 million to release a suspected kidnapper. The bribe was rejected, and Saleh was promptly arrested as investigations into the kidnapping syndicate continue.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Yahaya Saleh, for attempting to bribe investigators with ₦1.5 million in an effort to secure the release of a suspected kidnapper currently under investigation.
According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the arrest followed a covert operation by the Command’s Scorpion Squad, which is currently probing a kidnapping syndicate operating within the FCT and surrounding areas.
Saleh allegedly approached the investigators and offered the bribe in a bid to derail the investigation and unlawfully free one of the detained suspects. However, the officers rejected the offer and immediately initiated legal action, leading to his arrest.
SP Adeh further stated that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate. Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale, praised the officers for their integrity and reaffirmed the command’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption and obstruction of justice.
