Obi's Single-Term Plan Handed to Atiku, El-Rufai, Mark-Led Coalition

Tanko confirmed that Obi’s proposal for a four-year single term has been formally handed over to the opposition coalition. This coalition is led by key figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, and ex-Senate President David Mark, who are now reviewing it.
“We have submitted it to the group. It’s now their decision to accept or reject. But we believe it can work. This is a matter of trust, and Peter Obi stands for that. Nigeria needs leaders with integrity,” Tanko explained.
He also said Obi does not need more than four years to turn the country around and save its economy from collapse.
“Obi has made it clear—although a single term isn’t in the constitution—that he is willing to serve just one term. He believes four years is enough to get things done. That shows how ready and focused he is.”
Tanko added that fixing electricity alone would fix many problems in Nigeria. He also said that under Obi’s leadership, Nigeria would start exporting again. “Airports won’t have empty planes anymore,” he said.
