Shatta Wale freed after EOCO bail deal in Lamborghini Saga
Dancehall Star Beats GH₵10m Bail, Walks Free in Car Probe. Investigation ongoing.

Ghanaian dancehall star, Shatta Wale, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) after being held over the seizure of his luxury Lamborghini Urus.
The musician, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, was released on Thursday evening following days of questioning. EOCO is investigating the source of the high-end vehicle, which has been linked to Nana Kwabena Amuah, a Ghanaian jailed in the United States in 2021 for fraud.
According to investigators, the Lamborghini in Shatta Wale’s possession bore connections to Amuah, raising suspicions about how the musician acquired it. Shatta Wale, however, insisted that he purchased the car through an individual identified only as Zak, but claimed he has since been unable to trace the seller.
Initially, EOCO set bail conditions at GH₵10 million with two sureties, but after negotiations led by his legal team, the terms were reduced to GH₵5 million. This allowed the artiste to secure his release, pending further investigations.
The case has stirred public interest, with fans mounting pressure outside EOCO’s offices demanding his freedom. While his release offers temporary relief, it remains uncertain how the investigation will unfold.
Shatta Wale, one of Ghana’s most influential entertainers, has previously courted controversy both in his personal life and professional career. This latest incident places renewed scrutiny on the lifestyles of celebrities and their acquisitions.
EOCO is yet to confirm whether formal charges will be filed against the musician, but sources suggest that the matter hinges on whether Shatta Wale can provide evidence of a legitimate transaction with the elusive seller, Zak.
For now, the “Dancehall King” has regained his freedom, though the fate of the seized Lamborghini remains unresolved.
