YEA Partners with Shatta Wale’s SHAXI to Create Jobs

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) led by CEO Malik Basintale has teamed up with Ghanaian dancehall superstar Shatta Wale and his ride-hailing venture, SHAXI, to launch a powerful initiative focused on youth employment and economic empowerment.

What’s the Plan?

YEA will support the first 2,000 vehicles that subscribe to the SHAXI platform with GHC500 worth of fuel coupons every month for six months. This strategic move is designed to lower operational costs for drivers, making it easier for young Ghanaians to enter and thrive in the transport business.

Incentives for 24-Hour SHAXI Operators

The partnership is also offering additional incentives for SHAXI vehicles that operate on a 24-hour basis. This approach allows two drivers per vehicle, working in shifts, to double the job creation impact. The initiative aims to employ over 4,000 youth, creating steady income opportunities in Ghana’s growing transport ecosystem.

A Shared Vision for Youth Empowerment

Speaking on the partnership, CEO Malik Basintale emphasized the government’s commitment to youth-centered development, saying:

“This collaboration is not just about ride-hailing. It’s about putting real money in the pockets of young Ghanaians and giving them sustainable livelihoods.”

Shatta Wale, known for championing youth causes, echoed the sentiment:

“SHAXI was built for the streets. It’s time to make it bigger with the help of YEA so we can employ and empower even more of our brothers and sisters.”

Moving Forward

This public-private partnership is a bold step toward addressing unemployment among Ghana’s youth. With fuel support, operational incentives, and an inclusive model that encourages youth-led entrepreneurship, the SHAXI-YEA partnership is poised to become a blueprint for impactful job creation in Ghana.
