The day it hit the news that Chadwick Boseman had kicked the bucket was a day that I can personally not forget. I was at home, surfing the internet, and this news.
Initially, I didn't want to believe it, but I rushed to some trusted news stations, and there it was. Chadwick Boseman, our Wakanda Hero, was no more. My sadness couldn't be hidden.
With each role and character Chadwick played, a message was passed on to the world - one of identity, hope, and the belief that we all have a calling that is bigger than ourselves.
Right from 42, to Marshall, to the unforgettable Black Panther movie, Chadwick portrayed that being a hero was not about looking good. He showed that it meant being responsible for every decision you make and being truthful.
As King T’Challa, he was an inspiration to a whole generation of children and adults to believe in themselves as worthy, capable of greatness, and powerful. One thing that he hid from all was that, although he acted in these movies with grace and love, he was silently battling an illness. In all his pain, he kept on to serve the world through his art, and this reminds us of what living with a purpose looks like. Even in very difficult moments, he gave millions around the world total joy.
Now, we have no excuse to achieve our dreams and be all we want to be. Yes. Chadwick Boseman taught us to rise above every challenge and fight for what is worthy.
Although he is no longer with us, his impact and lessons continue to be felt. Every life that he touched, every smile he put on our faces, and every young dreamer he inspired still lives on. Chadwick Boseman will never be forgotten. He will be remembered as a king both on screen and in spirit.
