CLOGSAG Threatens Nationwide Strike Over Delayed Salary Structure.
CLOGSAG threatens to go on strike.

Tensions are escalating within Ghana’s civil and local government workforce as the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has issued a stark ultimatum to the government: implement the agreed revised salary structure and improved conditions of service by June 30, or face a nationwide strike.
The warning follows an emergency meeting of CLOGSAG’s National Executive Council held on Thursday, June 12, where members expressed deep frustration over the prolonged delay in fulfilling commitments made by government negotiators. According to the union, the revised structure—originally discussed in December 2024 and reiterated in May 2025—remains unimplemented despite repeated assurances.
“Our patience has worn thin,” stated a spokesperson for CLOGSAG. “We have exhausted all formal channels. If the government does not act within the two-week deadline, we will have no alternative but to withdraw our services across the country.”

The proposed strike, which could begin as early as July 1, would significantly impact operations in key public institutions, including municipal assemblies, regulatory bodies, and planning departments.
CLOGSAG is appealing directly to the Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, Mr. Rashid Pelpuo, to intervene and expedite the salary review process.
This move adds to mounting labor tension across the public sector, where multiple unions have raised concerns about stagnant wages amid rising living costs.
