Governor Bassey Otu Approves ₦70,000 Minimum Wage for Cross River Workers

The Cross River State Government has officially commenced the implementation of the new ₦70,000 national minimum wage, as confirmed by the State Head of Service, Dr. Innocent Eteng.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Bassey Otu’s administration, Dr. Eteng assured that the new wage structure reflects the government’s commitment to improving workers’ welfare and boosting productivity across the state.

“This decision underscores our dedication to ensuring that civil servants are adequately compensated in line with national standards,” he stated.

The announcement has been met with widespread relief among state workers, who say the wage increase will help cushion the effects of the current economic challenges.

With this move, Cross River joins the growing list of Nigerian states actively aligning with the federal minimum wage policy.
