Mahama, A Listening President - Kwame Pianim
One of the founding fathers of the opposition NPP has hailed President Mahama for his proactiveness and posture

Astute economist Kwame Pianim has eulogized President John Dramani Mahama for his attentive leadership, describing him as the only leader capable of “resetting Ghana” amid pressing national challenges.
In his remarks at the Jubilee House in Accra on Wednesday June 11 during a courtesy visit paid by the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) to the President, he underscored the president’s responsiveness, recalling how teachers reach out to Mahama with their concerns, confident that he would listen and take a decision.
“Here we tend to underpay our teachers but with you as a listening president, I was happy when they were coming; they said let’s go and talk to the president — I said with this president if he tells you he is going to do something, he will do it,” Pianim stated.
He contrasted Mahama’s leadership with unmet promises by others, referencing a failed promise of 10,000 houses for teachers that never materialised.
“Someone told them he was going to give them 10,000 houses, they got zero. I told them this is a listening president.”
Pianim, one of the founding fathers of NPP, appealed to all Ghanaians, across political divides, to support Mahama. “Of the 35, 36 million Ghanaians alive, you are the only one who can reset Ghana for us. I have been talking to the other people on the other side; when I put on my political hat, all of us have to make democracy work and support you because if you fail us — this is a historic opportunity for Ghana to get on the right path.”
He therefore encouraged the president to stir national administration beyond political pressures: “You are the right person, you don’t need the voters, you don’t need the party, do the best for Ghana and leave a legacy.”
