Security Boost: Six Suspected Criminals Arrested in Nasarawa

The Nasarawa State Police Command has announced the arrest of six suspects in connection with a string of armed robbery and kidnapping incidents in Doma Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the suspects were apprehended following a series of intelligence-led operations aimed at curbing rising insecurity in the area.

According to the police, the arrests were made after credible information revealed the hideouts of the criminal gang believed to be responsible for multiple attacks on residents and travelers along rural routes.

Recovered items from the suspects include firearms, ammunition, and other dangerous weapons. The command also confirmed that efforts are underway to track down other members of the gang still at large.

“We remain committed to ensuring the safety of residents. The suspects in custody will be charged to court once investigations are concluded,” DSP Nansel assured.

Local residents have expressed relief at the breakthrough, with many calling for sustained security presence in vulnerable communities to prevent further incidents.

The arrests come as part of ongoing security operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks across Nasarawa State and restoring peace in affected areas.
